Alexis Molina

Director of Artificial Intelligence

He graduated from the Bachelor’s Degree in Bioinformatics, a joint degree offered by the main four universities in Catalonia: UB, UPC, UPF and UAB, where focused on the structural biology branch by joining the SBI Laboratory at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park working in protein folding prediction, ab initio protein modelling and drug-drug interactions. Later on, he joined the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), within the Electronic and Atomic Protein Modelling Group, under the supervision of Prof. Guallar, where he began to work as an undergraduate student on enzyme thermostability and AI-aided drug design. Afterwards, he specialized in artificial intelligence and data science at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and catered his research to binding affinity prediction and generative models.
