Martí Municoy

Director of Technology Office

Martí Municoy is in charge of the software development in Nostrum Biodiscovery (NBD). He holds several years of experience in Prof. Guallar’s group, developing new computational methods to study biochemical systems, especially for the Protein Energy Landscape Exploration (PELE) software. Currently, he is also finishing his PhD in Computational and Applied Physics by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), which he started in 2018.

He graduated in Physics and Chemistry in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where he also started acquiring expertise in Computational Biochemistry as a collaborator in the unit of Chemistry and Physics. Afterwards, he completed an MSc in Modeling and Data Science, and he joined Prof. Guallar’s group, at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS). Then, he started his PhD to study new methods to improve protein-ligand predictions through Monte Carlo explorations. During his scientific career, he has published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation or ACS Catalysis. Now, at NBD, he works to keep facilitating the implementation and deployment of new software.
